Sumner County Economic Development Commission (SCEDC) will be offering training classes for businesses in our county and their employees, thanks to a grant from the South Central Kansas Economic Development District (SCKEDD) and matching funds being provided by the Sumner County Economic Development Commission (SCEDC).   The classes will be held in the SCEDC conference room at 123 N. Jefferson in Wellington. Morning Classes will begin at 8:00 AM and afternoon classes will begin at 1:00 PM.  Most of the classes will be offered free of charge but a few classes will require the attendee to pay for the course manuals.

The following schedule has been set for these classes.  Additional classes may be added at a later date depending on the availability of additional funding. 

August 3

Customer Service 103 – (Morning)

Customer Service 104 – (Afternoon)

August 11 - Excel I                           September 2 – Access I

August 18 – Excel II                        September 9 – Access II

August 25 –Excel III                    September 16 – Access III

Each of these is a one day course.  You may enroll for one, two or all three.  Each class builds on the information from the previous session.  Each of these courses requires a manual. While the tuition is paid through the grant, there is a charge for the manuals of $20 per class.   The manuals will be yours to keep at the end of the class.

Class sizes are limited so register early.  For those classes requiring a fee for the manual, please bring your fee to our office at 123 N. Jefferson in Wellington or mail it to SCEDC – PO Box 279, Wellington, KS 67152.  Manual Fee will be refunded if notification of cancellation is given to the SCEDC office at least two working days prior to the class.
