Belle Plaine, located in the northeastern corner of Sumner County, is renowned for their annual Tulip Time Festival held the third weekend in April. Located on Highway 55, 10 minutes south of Wichita, and bordered on the west by the BNSF main line, Belle Plaine is an excellent choice for businesses wanting to expand in the Wichita metro area.
Many Belle Plaine residents are employed in the aviation industry, and the community has spawned many aviation related manufacturers in the Belle Plaine Industrial Park. Products range from precision machined parts and cast iron products, to richly detailed woodwork including mantels, mouldings, cabinet doors, detailed columns, finials, and more. Mill Creek Lumber has recently expanded with an additional warehouse to serve the area.
Bartlett ArboretumBelle Plaine, blessed with fertile agricultural terrain in the heart of the Ninnescah Valley, is often referred to as Paradise Valley and is home to the Bartlett Arboretum. The Arboretum is a terrific venue for events and outdoor weddings on the lush green lawn, shaded by rare trees over a century old. Come enjoy the sights in this community which keeps their tulip tradition alive each year with tulips on nearly every corner. Or if you are just traveling through, be sure to stop at the Belle Plaine Welcome Center, the first Kansas Tourism Center on
I-35 in southern Kansas.
