






The Caldwell Arch Project is finished, just in time for the cattle drive. The iron and stone archway depicts Caldwell's cattle-drive history and celebrates the town's 140th anniversary.
The arch will be dedicated Saturday, September 3rd, at 5:15 p.m. in Caldwell in conjuction with the Kansas 150th Anniversary Cattle Drive.
Caldwell now has a new restaurant in town! Leslie's Restaurant and Bakery is now open at 118 South Main.
Leslie's offers fresh homemade pies, muffins, and cookies. Along with their bakery specialties they offer a salad and baked potato bar, sandwiches, and much more. They offer two daily specials that are priced at $6.00. This special includes a meat, potato, salad, drink, and a dessert. They also offer a 10% senior discount.
Hours are Tuesday - Saturday, 7:30 am- 7:30 pm.
The city of Caldwell has received a grant from the Federal Home Loan Bank in Topeka. Caldwell State Bank, with the help of KanOkla networks, was awarded the funds through the Joint Opportunities for Building Success program.
The funds received will be used for revitalization. Some of the grant money will be used to set up a strategic plan for Caldwell. The revitalization program will focus on retaining existing jobs, increasing the number of quality jobs available, and marketing the community.
Mike and Kim Arterburn have opened the doors of their new restaurant located in Caldwell, the Brandin Iron Cafe.
The Brandin Iron will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday through Monday. They drive-in will be open until 10 p.m. They are located at 23 E Central.
They plan to service burgers, sweet potato fries, and daily specials including Mexican food and fried chicken. Soft serve ice cream is another item being offered in the cafe.
