The local government follows the form of Mayor/Council and serves a population of over 5,000 people. Patriot Guard

In August of 2005, Mulvane became the birth place of the Patriot Guard. The mission statement of the Patriot Guard is as follows: "The Patriot Guard mission is to stand guard at the funeral of America's Fallen Heroes who are killed in action or are casualties of the current wars on terrorism in Afghanistan, Iraq, or any war zone. We also offer this support to law enforcement and firefighters who are killed in the line of duty. We shield them from protesters, showing our deepest respect and honoring the Fallen Heroes, their families, and their communities. We are invited guests of the family."

EDUCATION

USD #263 reorganized its delivery system in the spring of 1997, distributing the students among five attendance centers. These include: WD Munson Primary School which houses grades Kindergarten - Second. The Grade School is home to third and fourth grades and the fifth and sixth grades are at the Intermediate School. The Middle School is for the seventh and eighth grades and the High School is home to grades nine through twelve. The Mulvane community has invested heavily in the education of its future citizens, by continually providing new and updated facilities. Checkout their website at Mulvane School District USD 263.

Mulvane Public Library
Mission Statement

The mission of the Mulvane Public Library is to provide a well balanced collection of materials and services for community residents of all ages for personal enrichment, enjoyment and educational needs. The library is dedicated to promoting literacy and lifelong learning within the community. Plans are in development for a new library to be opened before the end of 2015.

The Mulvane Recreation Center provides activities and programs for both youth and adults. We have a full and varied Summer Rec program for kids from pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade. We have several Youth Sports programs and classes in fitness and enrichment for youth throughout the year.
