During Caldwell’s Stroll the Streets event, community members gathered to celebrate the opening of the Border Queen Community Kitchen—a shared commercial kitchen designed to spark creativity and opportunity in Sumner County.

The project was made possible through a partnership between Kansas Farm Bureau, the K-State 105 Initiative, Network Kansas, Border Queen Harvest Hub, Sumner County Economic Development, and K-State Research & Extension – Sumner County.

Located in downtown Caldwell, this new space provides local entrepreneurs, food producers, and bakers a place to grow their businesses and explore new ideas without the heavy cost of starting from scratch.

Since its opening, the kitchen has already hosted several successful uses, proving it’s more than a facility—it’s a community hub for innovation and connection.

(Watch the video below to see how this collaborative effort is helping local makers bring their ideas to life.)
