
Sumner County Economic Development Commission (SCEDC) will be offering training classes for businesses in our county and their employees, thanks to a grant from the South Central Kansas Economic Development District (SCKEDD) and matching funds being provided by the Sumner County Economic Development Commission (SCEDC). The classes will be held in the SCEDC conference room at 123 N. Jefferson in Wellington.
Susanna Madora Salter, first woman mayor of Argonia and the United States, has been nominated as a famous Kansas for the 8 Wonders of Kansas People contest. The contest is hosted by the Kansas Sampler Foundation. It allows people to pick their favorite person who contributed to the community, the United States and the world. 24 finalists will be chosen by a selection committee and will be available for the public vote for their 8 favorite Kansans on September 9.
Conway Springs Fire StationConway Springs held a grand opening on June 5 for their new fire station. Funding for the new acility was provided by fund raising activities and labor donations by local citizens.
